Okay, here we go! Our chorus auditions are under way. The 5th grade have completed their auditions, and the 4th grade should wrap theirs up by the end of this week, September 21. Chorus will officially begin next week, on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. The schedule will be 4th grade chorus on Tuesday and Thursday mornings; the 5th grade chorus meeting on Wednesday and Friday mornings. We will meet from 7:30 - 7:55 for each grade level. Please help me out by having your students to school no later than 7:30 on the days they have chorus. If they are to eat breakfast, please have them go there first, but quickly come to chorus once they have finished. I will need to lock my door by 7:45 to be assured of at least 10 minutes of practice with all members.
Our major production for this year will be a musical production entitled "Home for the Holidays", by John Jacobson. It is a story about a family who is traveling to Grandma's house for Christmas, has a delay in their airplane flight and still needs to find a CHRISTMAS TREE! We will have fun casting the characters for this. I will be in touch with all parents about costume needs! Please feel free to let Mr. Arny know if you would like to help in organizing the costumes! We will also be singng some lighter songs to high-lite the season.
To help you in planning now, I have listed once again what the standard outfit will be for our Chorus performances. Please plan acordingly as to how fast your child is growing!!!
Boys - white shirts (no ties necessary), black pants, black shoes, dark socks.
Girls - white shirts/blouses, black skirts/pants, black shoes.
Wow! There is a lot to be involved with. Thank you so much for being that involved parent with all that your children are a part of. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions. I look forward to working with each and every one of you!
